A Family That Lasts
What I want to tell my family:
A family is an organisation —
an organisation that rests on 2 things:
- People wanting to spend time together
and
- the environment around them, or where they live their lives or meet, to be functional.
There are two costs to pay to keep this organisation running well:
- The cost of connection
and
- The cost of practical function.
Any time behaviours strike either at the foundation of connection — people wanting to spend time together — or practical function — the financial & other roots of the organisation — there are conversations to be had to correct course
— otherwise the future of the organisation is threatened.
A family that masters these conversations is one that lasts.
